1 in 5 Britons wants to start a business this year
We were interested to read this article by Liam Kelly in The Sunday Times saying that 1 in 5 Britons wants to start a business this year.
As a nation known and admired for its entrepreneurship, this has to be good news for the economy and a welcome sign of optimism for the world of business.
According to the poll, run by Opinium, the young are keen to try their hand at a start-up, with more than a third of 18 to 34 year olds hoping to launch their own business initiative this year.
What Sectors?
Of the 2,000 people surveyed, the most popular sectors these new business leaders aspired to be in, were in health and wellbeing, followed by manufacturing, technology and business services.
Over Half Need Business Support
The report which was commissioned by The UK’s Start-Up Loans scheme, found that over half of the 2,000 respondents wanted business support.
